About Zhu

Writing about China, the US, and the Middle East, where technology, power, and identity meet.

I explore the world’s fault lines through stories, policy, and travel.

Born in China, educated in the UK and US, and trained in France, I somehow covered four of the UN Security Council’s five permanent members before 19. I once lived a “crème de la crème” life, before learning to see the human side of the world.

Over the past decade, I’ve wandered through the Middle East from Esfahan’s si-o-sei po to Riyadh’s Olaya Street to the Levant’s ruins. I like tracing how civilisations evolve and how people find meaning amid power.

I’ve been connected to institutions like the United Nations, the Bank for International Settlements, Bybit, and the University of Pennsylvania.

I once opened a bubble tea shop in Saudi Arabia. Now, I am also the owner of an AI company.

This space is where intellect meets instinct, and where cultures collide beautifully. I hope you’ll join me in the pursuit of justice, beauty, and discovery.
